About Genevive Bjorn, Ed.D.

Genevive Bjorn is the founder and principal consultant of Bjorn and Associates LLC. She holds a doctorate in Education from Johns Hopkins University and brings more than twenty years of experience in higher education as a researcher, educator, and consultant.

Her work sits at the intersection of three disciplines: research methodology, science communication, and instructional practice. This combination allows her to design consulting engagements that are methodologically rigorous, clearly communicated, and practically grounded in the realities of how institutions actually function.

Genevive’s consulting clients include learning organizations, university departments, graduate programs, writing centers, research offices, and academic support units. She specializes in working with institutions that serve first-generation students, international learners, and other populations that educational systems were not originally designed to support.

She is the author of Critical Reading of the Research Literature: Introducing the CERIC Method, forthcoming from Cambridge University Press in June 2026, and Effective Communication and Academic Success for International Students, forthcoming from Routledge. Her research and teaching have informed the development of The CERIC Method, a structured framework for critical evaluation of scientific literature now used in graduate programs and research literacy curricula.

Bjorn and Associates LLC is based in Hawai’i and serves institutions nationally.
